The Visual Research and Application Lab (ViRAL) delivers ‘core’ and ‘elective’ units as part of the Certificate IV and Diploma studies in Art, Craft, Design.

Core units are mandatory areas of study in the Certificate IV and Diploma qualifications. Core units are considered essential to visual art/craft education. ViRAL delivers core units in,

Elective units are optional areas of study in the Certificate IV and Diploma qualifications. Elective units diversify and enrich visual art/craft education. ViRAL offers elective units in,

• Research drawing
• Sculpture/site-specific sculpture
• Research skills
• Concept development skills

ViRAL augments and broadens your major workshop study. It is a practical and experimental studio that combines technical instruction with concept development. It employs a breadth of historical and contemporary arts/crafts practice to deliver core and elective units designed to foster creativity and visual literacy.
